Health and safety are our priority at HelpAlong. We all have a duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 to take reasonable steps to protect ourselves and others from harm. Reporting injuries and hazards helps us keep everyone safe and ensures risks are managed before they cause harm.
If You Are Injured at Work
If you experience an injury while performing your duties:
- Stop Work and Assess Your Wellbeing – If necessary, stop what you are doing and check your condition before continuing any activity.
- Report the Injury – Tell your manager immediately and complete an Incident Report Form.
- Seek Medical Attention if Needed – If your injury requires medical care and you wish to claim medical costs, your treating doctor will need to know the injury occurred at work so the right documentation can be completed.
- Submit Paperwork to HR – All completed forms, medical certificates, or WorkCover documents must be sent to HR for processing.
Prompt reporting ensures the right support and follow-up actions can be arranged quickly.
Reporting Hazards and Near Misses
Preventing incidents starts with awareness. If you see a hazard, unsafe condition, or near miss:
- Report it to your manager or WHS Representative immediately
- Complete an Incident Report
- Take action (if safe to do so) to prevent others from being harmed
Every report helps reduce risks and supports a safer workplace for everyone.
Reducing Risks in the Workplace
Everyone has a role in maintaining safety:
- Follow safe work practices and procedures
- Use equipment correctly and report any faults
- Speak up if you see something unsafe
- Encourage a safety-first mindset among your team
Our Shared Responsibility
Workplace safety is a shared commitment. By reporting injuries, hazards and near misses, you play an active role in preventing future incidents and protecting your team.
Together, we can continue to build a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported, and confident at work.
